Intimidation is their game

All-purpose Millard, all-out Williams put scare in opponents.

Rock Bridge seniors Amaya Williams, left, and Trey Millard, right, are the Tribune’s high school athletes of the year for 2009-10. Williams was a three-time allstate selection from the Class 5 District 9 champion girls basketball team. Millard was a force on the football field, the basketball court and on the track for the Bruins. Millard has signed a commitment to play football at Oklahoma.

Intimidation can come in many forms.

On the football field, Rock Bridge senior Trey Millard was the picture of it with his athletic 6-foot-3, 250-pound frame bursting from his padded uniform. On the basketball court, the Rock Bridge girls had their own little intimidator in 5-7 senior Amaya Williams. Although hardly a physical presence, Williams was the last player an opposing coach or player wanted to see on the floor.
